Hallo!!!!

Vor kurzem fiel mir bei einer Dokumentation über die finnischen Wälder auf, dass ich schon lange nichts mehr hier geschrieben hatte.
Was eigentlich verwunderlich ist, da ich meine Gastfamilie regelmäßig nach meinem Auslandsjahr 2012/13 besucht hatte.
Letzen Sommer war ich sogar mit meiner besten Freundin Laura dort.
Wir haben fast das ganze Land bereist und waren auch in Schweden sowie Norwegen.
Ich dachte mir, dass ich mal davon in chronologischer Reihenfolge berichte, um Unschlüssigen dieses Land schmackhaft zu machen.

Recently I watched a documentation about the Finnish woods and i noticed that I had written nothing for a long time.

What is actually surprising, because I had visited my guest family regularly after my exchange year 2012/13-

Last summer I was even there with my best friend Laura.
Wehave travelled almost the whole country and were also in Sweden and Norway.

I want to report about it in chronological order to make this country tasty for those who are interested.

Beginnen wir erst mal in Helsinki.

Zwar sind wir in Tampere gelandet, doch von dort ging es direkt weiter (also nur einen Zwischenstop).

Wir wohnten in einem Hostel (ziemlich zentral gelegen) in der Nähe vom Strand.

Wäre das Wetter um einiges besser gewesen, hätten wir dort auch baden gehen können.

Für Hochsommer war es jedoch zu dem Zeitpunkt etwas kalt; also immer auch für schlechtes Wetter packen.

We landed in Tampere, however, from there we went on directly (only a tiny stop).
We lived in a hostel (quite in the centre) close to the beach.

If the weather had been better, we could have gone swimming there.
Nevertheless (for midsummer) it was cold , so please also pack for bad weather too.

Da wir nicht viele Tage in Helsinki waren, hatten wir uns die Tage aufgeteilt.
An einem schauten wir uns die Stadt an, an ein einem weiteren wurden wir von einem einheimischen Bekannten umhergeführt und am letzten fuhren wir auf die Insel Suomenlinna.
Die Insel Suomenlinna ist eine Seefestung aus dem 18. Jahrhundert und liegt vom Hafen nur einige Minuten entfernt.
Die Fahrt war angenehm (wenn das Wetter schlecht ist, kann man auch geschützt sitzen) und auch nicht so teuer.
Interessant war meiner Meinung nach, dass die Insel vor einiger Zeit zu Schweden gehörte und jetzt sogar ein UNESCO- Weltkulturerbe ist.
Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Because we had not so many days in Helsinki, we had to split our days.
One for the town, an other for our local friend and the last one for the island Suomenlinna.
The island Suomenlinna is a sea fortress from the 18th century and is just some minutes from the harbour away
The journey was nice ( if the weather is bad, you can also sit protected) and also not so expensive.
In my opinion it was interesting that the island belonged some time ago to Sweden and now it is even an UNESCO world cultural heritage.
I can recommend it anyway.

Suomenlinna

Nach einem kurzen Zwischenstop in der Nähe von Kuopio bei meiner Gatfamilie, fuhren wir mit meiner Gastschwester nach Rovaniemi.
Sie studiert dort und konnte uns so eine kostenlose Unterkunft bereitstellen.
Komisch war aber, dass es am Polarkreis deutlich wärmer als in Helsinki war.
Zwar immer noch unter 20 Grad aber nicht so windig wie am Hafen.
Wir waren in Rovaniemi im Weihnachtsmanndorf und hatten das ganze Touristen- Programm abgespielt.
Rentiere streicheln und füttern, den Weihnachtsmann besuchen und auch weihnachtliche Mitbringsel kaufen.
Zudem waren wir auch im nördlichsten Ikea Europas (oder Welt?).
Der liegt an der schwedisch-finnischen Grenze in Haparanda/Tornio.
War aber ein ganz normaler Ikea.

We went, after a short stop close to Kuopio at my hostfamilies house, with my host sister to Rovaniemi.
She studies there and could provide us with a free place to stay.
However, it was funny that it was more cold in Helsinki than it was at the polar circle.
Still less than 20 degrees, but not so windy as at the harbour.
We went in Rovaniemi to the Santa Claus Village and had played thewhole tourist- program.
We were able to pet and feed reindeers, visited Santa Claus and also had to buy christmassy presents.
Besides that, we had been also to the most northern IKEA of Europe (or world?) on the Swedish- Finnish border in Haparanda/Tornio.
But it was, however, a quite normal IKEA.

Nach unserem Aufenthalt in Rovaniemi ging es noch weiter in den Norden.
Wir fuhren zum Mökki nach Inari.
Sooooo viele Mücken musste ich noch nie in Finnland ertragen.
Selbst meine Sprays halfen nicht mehr.
Ich roch zwar wie ein Chemielabor, doch die Mücken störte der Geruch gar nicht.
Unsere Hütte lag im Wald an einem See.
Einen direkten Nachbarn gab es nicht.
Meine Freundin konnte zumersten mal in ihrem Leben die Mitternachtssonne erleben.
Zur Info: Im Sommer geht die Sonne kaum unter und im Winter kaum auf.

After our stay in Rovaniemi we went even further to the north.
We went to the Mökki in Inari.
I never had to endure soooooo many mosquitoes in Finland.
Even my sprays did not help any more.
I smelt like a chemical lab, but the smell did not disturbed the mosquitoes at all.
There was not a direct neighbour.
My friend could experience the midnight sun for the first time in her life.
A freindly reminder: In summer the sun hardly sets and in winter the sun hardly rises.

Wir beide waren fast 3 Wochen mit nur 10 Kilo Handgepäck unterwegs.
Von Tampere nach Helsinki, von Helsinki nach Kuopio und von Rovaniemi nach Tampere waren wir jedes Mal mit dem Zug unterwegs.
Wenn man diese Art zu Reisen wählt, sollte man in der Hauptsaison unbedingt Sitzplätze reservieren, da es nicht sonderlich angenehm ist, nach jeder Haltestelle mit all seinen Sachen den Platz wechseln zu müssen.
Alles in allem war der Urlaub sehr schön und wir wollen zu Weihnachten dieses Jahres wieder dahin reisen.
Meine beste Freundin zählt wohl schon die Tage.

We both stayed nearly 3 weeks with only 10 kilos of hand luggage.
We were on the move every time by the train from Tampere to Helsinki, from Helsinki to Kuopio and from Rovaniemi to Tampere.
If one want to choose this kind of travelling, you should book in the main season seats, because it´s not particularly pleasent to change places after every stop with all your stuff.
All in all, the vacation was very nice and we want to travel al Christmas this year again.
My best friend is probably already counting the days.

Ich will wieder nach Finnland

Meine Herbstferien gehen langsam dem Ende hin und ich muss bald wieder zur Schule.
Die Temperaturen in Deutschland liegen bei ca. 13Grad, letzes Jahr hatte ich in Finnland schon Schnee :-)
Manchmal will ich zurück, weil mich viele Dinge in Deutschland neven und es viel besser im Norden war.
Bald werde ich im Weltenbumlercafe von YFU Finnland vorstellen und dafür musste ich schon ein paar Sachen zusammen suchen.

Es ist schade, dass mein Auslandsjahr nur so kurz war.
Sicher war es nicht immer leicht und ich hatte auch manchmal Lust meine Freunde und Familie zu sehen, doch im Großen und Ganzen möchte ich die Zeit in Finnland nicht missen.
Ich hab mich einigermaßen in Deutschland wieder eingelebt, stoße dennoch immer wieder auf Menschen die meine Entscheidung ein Auslandjahr zu machen, immernoch nicht verstanden haben.
Sie fragen, wieso Finnland oder dir hatte es im Endeffekt doch gar nichts gebracht?
Aber es hat mir sehr viel gebracht, da ich am Anfang eben fast nichts verstanden hatte und ich oft auf mich selbst gestellt war.
Ich habe Situationen gemeistert, bei denen ich vorher aufgegeben hätte und ich bin auch stolz darauf.
Meine Entscheidung , ein Jahr in Finnland zu verbringen war eine der besten Entscheidungen die ich je getroffen habe.
Ich hatte so viele neue Freunde gefunden, auf der VBT, den Seminaren in Finnland, auf dem YES oder der NBT.
Fast immer waren es neue Leute, doch wir hatten immer was gemeinsam, was ich total toll fand.

Ich würde nicht jedem ein Auslandsjahr enpfehlen, da man niemanden zu etwas zwingen soll, doch ich kann mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit sagen, dass man viel für die Zukunft lernt.

Bald wieder in Deutschland

Morgen fange ich an zu packen, also ist dies mein letzter Beitrag bis ich wieder in meinem Haus in Deutschland bin.
Am Freitag war Mittsommer, Sommeranfang und der hellste Tag im Jahr.
Traditionel wird ein großes Feuer gemacht, unsers war in der Lagerfeuer Größe, da wir von Bäumen umzingelt sind.
Das Wetter ist wieder besser geworden und im Haus müssen die Ventilatoren angeschaltet werden.
Ich habe schon Alle meine Sachen zusammen gesucht, damit ich sie Morgen in meine Koffer packen kann.
Am Donnerstag fahren wir in Richtung Helsinki, um pünktlich am Freitag am Flughafen zu sein.
Heute hatte meine Schwester Sushi gemacht.
Es war echt lecker!
Da ich bald Finnland verlasse, dachte ich mir, dass ich vielleicht noch ein paar Punkte aufliste, die mir aufgefallen sind!
1- Du findest unheimlich viele Bäume in Finnland und es ist fast unmöglich an einen Ort in Finnland zu gehen und dort keinen Baum aufzufinden.
2- Finnland hat sehr, sehr viele Seen!
3- Im Sommer kommt man nicht um die Massen an Mücken vorbei, man hat mindestens 10 Stiche!
4- Als Finne isst man sehr viel Fisch, Brot und Käse.
5- Sehr viele Finnen haben ein Mökki (kleines Ferienhaus).
6- Etwas vergleichbares in Finnland zu Milka wäre Fazer; aber eigentlich auch nicht, da Fazer auch Produkte wie Brot herstellt.
7- Öffentliche Toiletten haben ein kleines Waschbecken und eine Duschbrause daneben in jeder Kabine, doch wenn man hinaus geht, findet man dort auch die normalen Waschbecken.
8- Die Finnen trinken ziemlich viel Kaffee!
9- Man trinkt eigentlich Leitungswasser, da es gesund und auch sauber genug zum trinken ist.
10- In der Schule gibt es kostenloses Mittagessen.
11- Zum Essen muss es immer eine Beilage geben (Reis, Nudeln, Kartoffeln) und Brot gibt es immer dazu!
12- Man isst den Milchreis auch zum Mittagessen und es ist üblich,dass er ein wenig salzig ist!
13- Es gibt Alle Milchprodukte fettfrei und laktosefrei.
14- Schwedisch ist die zweite Landessprache, also muss jeder diese Sprache in der Schule lernen.
15- In den Klassen gibt es meist so wenig Schüler,dass jeder genug Aufmerksamkeit vom Lehrer bekommt, hinzu hat man auch viel mehr Zeit zum lernen.
16- Ich war es gewohnt, dass wenn man ein Lagerfeuer macht, Stockbrot und Marshmellows isst, doch sowas macht man in Finnland nicht, man isst Würstchen und Pfannenkuchen.
17- Sehr viele Finnen haben mindestens einen Hund und wenn es nicht ein Hund ist, dann eine Katze oder ein anderes Haustier.
18- In Lappland laufendie Rentiere frei rum, was ziemlich gefährlich für die Autofahrer werden kann. Jedes Rentier ist gekennzeichnet, damit man weiß, zu wem das Tier gehört.
19- Wenn man ganz viel Glück hat, kann man auch einen Bären sehen, doch Eisbären gibt es in Finnland nicht, auch wenn es im Winter ziemlich kalt werden kann.
20- Eigentlich benutzt man im Winter kein Salz zum streuen auf den Straßen, da es der Natur nicht gut tut, darum benutzt man Sand oder kleine Steine.
21- Viele Straßen bestehen aus Sand und kleinen Steinen.
22- Wenn man vom Süden in den Norden fährt, kann man ganz genau beobachten, wie sich die Bäume und die Natur verändern. Kommt man in den Norden, ist der Wald nicht mehr so dicht und die Bäume sind nur noch Stiele :-)
23- Im Sommer kann es auch in der Nacht hell sein, es wird vom Süden bis zum Norden immer heller.
24- Ich habe noch keine richtigen Brötchen in Finnland gesehen, wenn nur sehr weiche Brötchen.
25- Im nördlichsten Supermarkt Finnlands (Nuorgam) kann man Ben&Jerrys Eis, Kirschen im Glas und auch andere tolle Produkte kaufen, obwohl es über 200 km bis zu nächsten größeren Stadt sind!









Ich hoffe, dass dies irgendwie hilfreich war, es waren nur irgendwelche Dinge, die mir im laufe der Zeit aufgefallen waren :-)

Oh, such a long time!

Hey!
I  just noticed that I have not written for a long time.
In the meantime, not much happens!
I was in Rovaniemi for a few days with my sister.
As the winter was pretty cold for me, 15 degrees is now very warm for me.
So I was probably the only one in the city of Rovaniemi  running around in shorts, top and flip-flops.
The others all had thick jackets and looked at me funny.
I was there in the cinema and watched "The Great Gatsby".
The liked the clothes and the music was really great.
Since we were in a hotel, there was also a breakfast buffet every morning.
So I was able to get me delicious pancakes with maple syrup.
They were really delicious!
At the 6. day  I was on a YFU - meeting in Jyväskylä.
Since I had to go to a bus there, I had to get up at 4 clock to get to the bus.
I've never been so tired, not even after the flight in August.
But it was good to see the other exchange students (there were not any, there was a meeting in Helsinki and Oulu) again and share stories.
Eating  pizza, cookies, apples and candy.
The weather is still good, but it has become cold and lately it's raining unfortunately a little more!
I had harvested the rhubarb and cooked in between for the family.
Mosquitoes, there are still many, but they hit me, thank God not as often.
Soon, I have to pack my bags because I have only 9 days left in Finland.
Mom will help me over skype because mothers  simply better pack up suitcases and pack arts are really in demand now.
I wonder how all these things will get  back to Germany.
There is also the YES in Berlin and I am also looking forward to see my people from the VBT
again.
I will contact you again before my laptop disappears in the trunk!

Letzter Monat

Hey Leute!
Mein letzter Monat in Finnland ist angebrochen!
Einerseits möchte ich nicht wieder nach Deutschland, doch andererseits möchte ich meineFreunde und Familie gerne wiedersehen.
Wir haben zurzeit die Mücken zu Besuch!
Bis jetzt habe ich 27 Mückenstiche in 2 Tagen bekommen.
Es ist ja nicht so, dass es in Deutschland keine Mücken gibt, doch diese hier sind anders.
Ich reagiere sehr allergisch darauf und mir kommt es auch nur so vor, dass meine anderen Familienmitglieder wohl nicht gestochen werden!
Gestern war die Abifeier meiner Schwester.
Es läuft hier Alles ziemlich anders ab, als ich es gewohnt bin.
Die Finnen tragen bei ihren Abschluss eine Kappe, die etwas an eine Kapitänskappe erinnert.
Auch die Feier in der Schule ist sehr anders.
Aber ich fand es gut :-)
Es war doch leider sehr warm in der Turnhalle.

Heute haben wir ca. 32 Grad draußen und irgendwer hatte mir auch erzählt, dass Finnland zurzeit das wärmste Land in Europa ist.
Ich bewege mich so wenig wie möglich draußen in der Natur, da ich sonst sofort von den Mücken angegriffen werden würde.
Am Dienstag waren wir in Kuopio und hatten die Abschlusskappe abgeholt.

Wenn man den Namen übersetzt, bedeutet es soviel wie Teereis.
Aber keine Angst, die kratzen in Finnland nicht den Straßenbelag ab und tun es dann ins Eis :-)
Es schmeckte wie geräuchert.
Eine Mischung aus Kaffe, Nüssen und geräuchertem Lachs ?!
Ich kann es irgendwie nicht beschreiben, daes keinen gleichen Geschmack gibt.
Den Rest der Woche waren meine Schwester und Ich damit beschäftigt die Kuchen und Torten, sowie den Rest für die Abifeier zu backen und bestücken!

Von oben nach unten/von rechts nach links: Brownies und Beeren-Weißeschokolade Kekse, Cloudberrytorte, Erdbeer-Blaubeertorte, Bananenkekse&Haferkekse, Sandwich-Lachstorte&kleine Pizzen& salzige Bisquitrolle und salzig gefüllte Windbeutel, Topfkuchen in Zitone& Kaffe und Schoko und zum Schluss eine Sachertorte!!! Sehr viel!!!

Bei der Wärme war das gar nicht so einfach!
Ich habe jetzt bis zu meiner Abreise nach Deutschland, Schulferien und ich weiß noch nicht, was ich mit der ganzen Zeit anfangen will.
Vielleicht packen oder nochmal die Gegend erkunden ( mit ganz viel Antimückenspray!!!!!!!).

Danmark har vundet!

Emmelie DeForest har stor sang! Jeg er glad!
Hallo Leute!
Wundert auch nicht über die Sprache, es ist dänisch und kein finnisch:
Ich wollte mal wieder auf deutsch schreiben (obwohl meine Rechtschreibung mir das eigentlich verbieten sollte !) und von meinen Aktivitäten von den letzten Tagen berichten.
Von Donnerstag auf Freitag hatte ich bei Mona übernachtet und wir durften einem Kälbchen sogar einen Namen geben.
Es heißt jetzt Kordula!

Danach ging es direkt wieder zu mir für das ganze Wochenende.
Wir haben jetzt auch so ziemlich ein volles Haus,da wir mit Mona 6 Personen sind.
Gestern hatten wir gekocht, Frikadellen mit Kartoffelauflauf und Salat, zum Nachtisch gab es so eine Art Schichtdesert mit Keks&Quark&Pfirsich.
War echt lecker.
Am Abend gab es dann auch endlich den Eurovison Song Contest in Malmö.
Wir hatten uns mit Käse und Gemüse sowie Chips und Cola versorgt und und mit Mona´s Laptop in die Küche gesetzt.

Dänemark hat gewonnen ( worüber ich mich total freue, da ich dann auch endlich mir den ESC live anschauen werde) und Deutschland hat leider nur den 21 Platz gemacht, was meiner Meinung total unverdient war, da dort viel schlimmere Leute aufgetreten waren.
Eric Saade war auch wieder auf dem Bildschirm :-)

Heute wollen wir zum See gehen und uns dort ein wenig in die Sonne legen.
Der Sommer ist hier nämlich angekommen und wir haben fast jeden Tag an die 24 Grad.
Ich freue mich sehr darüber, da ich keinen Schnee oder Eisstücken sehe und ich auch mal wieder mit kurzen Kleidungsstücken rausgehen kann.
Meine Schwester hat auch ihr Abitur in der Tasche :-)
Ich habe leider nur noch 40 Tage, bis ich wieder nach Deutschland muss.
Ich finde das nicht so toll, weil mir jetzt Finnland am besten mit der Sonne und so gefällt.
Aber irgendwann muss man ja auch gehen :-)
Soviel dazu, nächste Woche fahre ich nochmal nach Kuopio um ein paar Sachen für die Feier von meiner Schwester zu kaufen.
Danach geht es in den Ferien für ein paar Tage nach Rovaniemi, da sie sich für einen Uniplatz bewerebn möchte.

I'm still alive!
I know I have not written for a long time, but I had a lot to do.
My first package with my personal things is already in Germany.
The second will follow in June!
I had really a lot of things and I need to sort out them now!
Today I was in Koli.

We were in the cloud!

 
This is between Nurmes and Joensuu.
It was really nice there, but unfortunately we had to climb lots of stairs and my knee does not like that!
The first day of May was in the end like any other day.
There was salmon for lunch and in the afternoon there was also Munkki!
In the Finnish education, Mona and I read a Finnish children's books.
Although it is a book for kids, I have problems to understand the story.
In any case, it is kind of a fox and Mona has  kids who want to give their teacher something.
Otherwise, not much has happened.
I left only less than 50 days and I was wondering how fast time can pass it?
The month of May has just begun and he's already finished!
Mona is visiting me next weekend again!
We want to watch the Eurovision Song Contest with lots of food!
I hope we will have fun!

I´m back!!!

I'm back from Lapland!

 
There, in the north, I've experienced a lot.
On Monday I was at the most northern point of Finland and in Norway ( unfortunately, not for long).
There is even a larger supermarket than here in my place.
Lapland is really beautiful, the trees look very different there, there is still snow and reindeer are moving everywhere.
I've never been in a different place before, where it is the same anyway.
Tuesday I was with my sister on the lake and we were driven around by snowmobile.
It was great.

Wednesday we were all together on a small island in the lake (the lake was frozen), where they had made ​​a campfire.
There we were grilling sausages and bread.
On that day I was traveling with skis.
On Thursday we went home again .
On the way we stopped in Rovaniemi and the Santa Clause Village.

Unfortunately many shops were closed and I could then buy anything.
Then we were in Ranua in the zoo.
There are animals that can be found in nature in Finland (well, a polar bear can not be found here).
There were so many cute animals, because spring has arrived.
Throughout the week was really great.
I had a lot of fun with my family.
On Saturday I was playing with my brother and my sister Frisbee golf.
 There you have a Frisbee and tries to convey with the fewest throws in a kind of basket.
I had not done it because I wanted to take pictures.
Soon the last month will be there,where I will start going to school. Then I just have holidays.
Time passes so quickly.
Today is Vappu or like you say normally, the 1st of may.
We decorated the house.

We had made ​​on Sunday donuts for today.
Let's see what else we do.

Lapland

The snow is melting!
The temperatures are in the plus range now and it rains again (I think that's also not so great).
I will not report until Friday, because I will go to Lapland.
Until then there is nothing to report.
Mona is this weekend in Helsinki to visit an another exchange student.
Maybe she will buy me something.
I drive on Sunday and will spend in the car a little over 10 hours.
I do not know yet what I'll do, but there will be something for me.

If i will have lots of luck, i will probably see a moose!
We'll see, but I think I'll definitely get tanned in the sun, so I need to bring sunscreen.
We will probably spend a lot of time on the lake and there is no shadow!
But when I get back, I'll talk about my short trip to Lapland .

Guten Tag!

Hello!
Now it´s time for me again to write in german!

Hallo an alle, die meinen Blog lesen.
Heute Morgen hatte es mal wieder geschneit, obwohl ich der festen Ueberzeugung war, dass der Fruehling eingekehrt ist.
Naja, jetzt haben wir wieder etwas mehr Schnee.
Leider, wie ich schon mal berichtet habe, sind es nur noch weniger als 80 Tage fuer mich und die anderen hier in Finnland.
Dann fahre ich zu dem YES nach Berlin.
Ich frage mich immer noch, wie die ueber 500 Leute unterbringen wollen, doch es scheint wohl zu klappen.
Bei mir hat am Dienstag ein neues und mein letztes Jakso angefangen.
Meine Fächer sind Mathe, Englisch, Finnisch, Sport, Kochen und Kunst.

Heute habe ich mal wieder gekocht, da ich langsam Gefallen daran finde.
Ich habe sogar Laugenbrötchen gebacken, wobei ich immer dachte, die wären schwer zu machen.
Man wird auf jeden Fall selbstständiger und mutiger, da kann ich nur zustimmen.
Meine Familie meint auch, dass es ziemlich gut schmecken wuerde, ich bin nur froh, dass sie es ueberhaupt essen.

Ich esse sehr gerne "Skyr"! Kommt aus Island und schmeckt wie eine Mischung aus Quark und Joghurt. Fester Joghurt oder doch eher flüssiger Quark? Fürdie, die es noch kennen, es schmeckt wie Frufoo ( schade ,dass es das nicht mehr gibt).

Zurzeit bin ich im Sodoku-Fieber und komme auch nicht mehr davon los.
Ich setzte mich dafuer immer in die Kueche mit meiner kleinen Tasse Tee und bleibe dann dort auch fuer ca. 1 Stunde sitzten.

Worueber kann ich noch schreiben?
Wenn ihr etwas wissen wollt, schreibt mir einfach eure Fragen und ich werde sie beantworten, doch bis jetzt kam da nicht so viel an mich zurueck, also erwähne ich es noch einmal.
Mittwoch und Donnerstag hatten Mona und Ich einen Wakkelpudding-Marathon veranstaltet.

Es gab Himbeergeschmack und Zitronengeschmack, och mein Gott war das lecker.
Ich wusste gar nicht, das man Wakkelpudding so sehr vermissen kann.
Starbucks ist hier ja auch leider nicht vertreten und darauf freue ich mich in Deutschland total.

Hier mein Schulweg im August ( zu der Zeit waren es noch ca. 20 Grad).

Zum Vergleich: Mein Schulweg im November bei ca. -15 Grad.

In letzter Zeit bin ich auf der Suche nach einem sehr großen Karton, da ich noch ein paar Sachen, welche ich mir hier für den Winter gekauft hatte, zurück schicken muss.
Ichhoffe doch, dass ich einen finde.
Zwar habe ich schon 2 Koffer und in denen ist auch viel Platz, doch ich hab hier in Finnland in den letzten Mmonaten unmengen von Sachen angehäuft.
Doch ich denke, dass andere Austauschschüler das selbe Problem haben.
Mona hat auch schon ein paar Sachen weggeschickt.
Ich warte aber noch ein wenig damit, denn es schneit noch zurzeit und Morgens ist es doch noch ein wenig kühl.
Ende Mai werde ich es dann wohl wegschicken.

Mehr fällt mir zurzeit nicht ein.
Natürlich könnte ich noch viel mehr schreiben, doch ich denke, dass es zu langweilig für euch werden könnte.
Doch ich freue mich sehr darüber, dass ihr euch alle für meinen Blog interesiert :-)

Less than 80 days left :-(

Hello!
The snow finally melts, which I think is really great.
I was jogging today already with Reto.
He had taken me more behind him, as I've run by myself .
It is so great to walk outside in the nature and breathe the fresh air ; spring arrives!
I look forward to when it gets warm.
I also wanted to show you some pictures.

Hard to believe, but there are unfortunately only still less than 80 days here in Finland.
Then I fly from Helsinki to Munich to Berlin.
There I will have the YES from YFU.
It is a kind of endseminar to  reflect on everything and have fun with all the other exchange students from Europe.
I'm looking forward already, even if it means then that my exchangeyear is over already.
 
Many have asked me if I was homesick.
It may sound a little wierd, but I had never really felt homesick.
At the very beginning, on the second day with my host family, I felt pretty bad.
I was there for the first time in nearly a week, I had been on the Internet and read all the lovely encouragement from my friends and family.
It was very emotional for me.
In the winter months, Mona and I had been a bit depressed ; so much snow, it was pretty dark and we just wanted to do anything.
But that time is thankfully over.
Also i hadn´t had a culture shock.
I think the reason is that Finland actually is not really very different from Germany.
Sure, there are differences, and these can even be very unusual, but I had almost never a problem with it.
I think that this is enough for now.

Oulu and Tampere

I'm so sorry that I had written anything for so long.
But unfortunately I had in the last few days not really found the time.
Well, I'll start from the beginning.
My cold is almost gone.
Easter in Finland is not as I thought.
As already mentioned, they paint here no eggs and they don´t  search for eggs.
If  I wouldn´t had  vacation, it would have been just normal weekdays, so nothing spectacular.
Oulu was pretty good.
I explored the city with my sister.
I bought myself some new things.
In the evening we went to the cinema and had seen the movie Mama.
I've seen a lot of scary movies, but this was very scary for me.

 
Tampere was also very good.
I personally found the city more beautiful than Oulu.
Can perhaps come from the fact that there was less snow and it was a bit warmer.
In any case, I can say that I had spent much time in the car.
Oulu, it was almost 4 hours and to Tampere around 5 hours.
Most of the time I had slept or listened to music.
It was good that inbetween the new album by Paramore appeared.

 
Starting Tuesday I have a new Jakso, let's see what subjects I can choose.
 

New stuff!

Oh, my God, how long I have not written something?
I apologize for the long break.
But to be quite honest, I had not found the time to write something.
Tomorrow we have a free day and it is already Easter.
Tuesday and Wednesday I go to Oulu.
I'm looking forward so much.

My packages are thankfully arrived and when I opened it,it was amazing.
I saw nearly just chocolate.
I wonder who is going to eat all that?
Mona was on Monday up to Wednesday morning with me, because my sister had visited my brother and so a bed was free (well, that was not the real reason).
I had dyed Mona´s hair, which was pretty exhausting.

She has very long hair.
We made Sushi and a cake​​.
On Monday I had cooked Königsberg meatballs-and they did not taste so bad.
I have a cold again, what bothers me quite much.
My throat hurts, I'm coughing and my nose runs.

My whole family is already annoyed , I can understand that.
Hopefully it goes by quickly.
But here is probably a flu around.
So I will lay me the next day on my bed and watch True Blood on my laptop and take chocolateand as well  tea.
After my trip to Oulu there is something new  to hear from me.

Question

Oh my God, I've seen the Northern Lights on Sunday.
I think whole  Finland has seen it.
I wanted to take a picture, but there was nothing to see on the pictures.
Nothing, just a black screen.

In the whole week will probably be a chance to see the Northern Lights.
Soon is also Easter, I have unfortunately not received  packages yet, but if it's there, you will know about it of course :-)
In addition I make a video with Mona  and she will also visit me from Monday to Wednesday.






Yes, we want to make sushi, and do other things.

To the weather conditions ( it´s like a weather studio :-)): It is usually cold in the morning around -15 to -25 degrees, in the  noon it gets warmer, usually around -10, as the sun comes out.
I run well for quite some time around here with sunglasses, because you could get "snow blind" in fact of the snow.
Mona is back again and had to tell stories.

She'll probably talk a lot about it the whole week.
And here are some questions, which i will answer.


Question 1: Can you ski?
If I am be honest, I do not drive really good at skiing.
My PE teacher said I would be  for the beginning pretty good at skiing.
In my opinion, I'm very bad.
I can not last long on the boards and fall down often.
Mona would probably teach me downhill.
I'll report  :-)

Question 2: What subjects do you have in school?
I currently have PE, art, English, Finnish, cooking and Health Sciences
This sound a little, but except for Art & Sport and cooking, I have other subjects every day.
We choose the subjects for which we can understand the most.

Question 3: Have you ever been in Lapland?
Yes, I have been to Lapland.
Specifically, in October.
I was in Inari, which is pretty much in the north of Finland.
It has also been noticed that it was near the top, because it was cold and the first snow already lay.
I found it very beautiful there and  would sometimes like to do it again :-)

Snoooow

Hey!!!
Yesterday it was snowing heavily again.
I wonder when this stops?
Do not get me wrong, I like the snow very much and I also knew when I came to Finland that therewill be a lot of snow in the winter , but it is way too much for me.
I had my first snow here in early October.
But by Christmas, the snow was not much higher than 15cm.
In the new year there was also snow that's enough about the knees.
Today is bright sunshine, which really surprised me.

The weather changes very often and it's not even April.
Easter is soon and I'm looking forward to it.
I do not know much about the Finnish Easter traditions.
Mämmi yes I know already, but it seems they are not searching for brightly painted eggs.
But in the supermarkets you can already find a lot eastersweets, the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs, just not colored eggs.
Mona is still in Lapland,I've still heard nothing from her.
According to the plan of YFU, she is now going skiing.
She has seen babies Husky and reindeers.
Let's see what she will tell me , she wanted to bring me something.
It's just strange to be sitting here at school without Mona.
I'm hoping that the snow melts after Easter, because then we had a more than 6 months of winter.
Anyway it is good that the temperatures remain lately under  -15 degrees.
My mother has today sent the last packet for me , and probably a lot of chocolate bars should be hidden in it.

I am so excited, I really wanted to not have to eat so many sweets, but I can probably do nothing against  it.
I will jogging back on Monday again, because my toe is still injured and I did not want to avoid unnecessary stress.

Mid-Stay Seminar of YFU

I'm back again from Jyväskylä.
I was there because of the Mid-Stay seminar of YFU.
On Saturday morning I  went there with Mona by bus.
When we were driving just 5 minutes, we noticed both that I had forgotten my poster.

We should write down  our year abroad in Finland so far.
I  also had forgotten my cell phone, my brush, my sunglasses and my shower gel and departure times for my bus for the way back.
In Kuopio, we had to change our bus ride and we were then driving again about 3 hours.
At the station in Jyväskylä we had met up with another exchangestudents.
From there we were then driven to the hostel.
We had small houses with either 4 or 7 people.
We were divided into groups and had small workshops where we had talked about our year and what we could improve, or perhaps change.
There were also 5 meals.
It was very cold and when we had to go into the main building, we always were half frozen.
On monday, it was for me back again.
40 people went to Lapland, including Mona.
The others were again drove back to the station.
From there I wait 5 hours.
So I made my way and even found the city to go shopping.
By 7 clock in the evening I was at home, and then  there was Mämmi.

With ice cream!

Mämmi is actually not bad, it's just getting used to.
Without ice cream, or cream you can not really eat it.
But I like it actually.
After Easter, it's for me for almost 2 days to Oulu.
I am looking forward to it, maybe I'll go with my sister into a movie.
Next week, Mona is back again.
